My name is David Pool and myself along with my good friend Robert Smith embarking on a 20 day cycling tour around parts of Northern Europe to help raise money for Cancer Research as we have a friend who is going through treatment as well as a family member of my own.
To raise money we will ask for donations from our friends and family and also be holding some fundraising nights at the Edinburgh Napier University student union as our friend is currently a 4th year student studying Sport and Exercise Science also we are both graduates from the same course, graduating in 2012.
Our journey will start on the 1st of July 2013 as we leave Edinburgh to embark on a journey of 1523 miles across Holland, Germany, Luxembourg and ending in Paris on the Champs Elysees the morning of the 21st of July to coincide with the 2013 edition of the TOUR de France concluding on the evening of the same day. On our Journey we will complete 20 cycling stages at an average of 76 miles per day tackling various category 3, 4 and 5 climbs and also visit 20 football stadiums on our journey as well as local veledromes and cycling centres.
